About the Kansas Humanities Council
The Kansas Humanities Council is a non-profit organization that provides Kansans with the resources needed to provide quality cultural
programs at home. Why are humanities programs like speaker presentations, book and film discussions, and museum exhibitions important? These types of programs provide ways for community members to come together to discuss topics of interest. These conversations often use the past – shared traditions, common values, personal experiences, and historical perspectives – as a way to invite ideas about our future.
Kansans agree. In 2009, there were 597 KHC supported humanities programs in 112 Kansas communities.
