Humboldt is the hometown of two famous baseball players: Walter "Big Train" Johnson, one of the most revered pitchers of all time who played for the Washington Senators, and George "Sharkey" Sweatt, a combination infielder and outfielder known for his wicked hitting who played for the renowned Kansas City Monarchs of the National Negro League. Find out how their Humboldt roots influenced these hometown heroes. Part of the "Hometown Teams: How Sports Shape America" Smithsonian Institution traveling exhibition.

Exhibition open 1:00 to 4:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays.
