Facilitated by Robert Weems, history professor at Wichita State University.

To mark the 50th Anniversary of the Civil Rights Act, a panel of experts will discuss the documentary film, "Slavery by Another Name," and explore the mass incarceration of African Americans.

Panel will also include Michael Birzer, Professor of Criminal Justice at Wichita State University, and Jack Cole, President of LEAP - Law Enforcement Against Prohibition.

The "Created Equal" film discussions are made possible through a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, as part of its "Bridging Cultures" initiative, in partnership with the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. This project is a collaboration with the Kansas Humanities Council.
